Turn your wedding ceremony into a spiritually inspired event..........
If you are seeking a wedding ceremony with a difference consider infusing your celebrations with the spiritual side of your nature.
How do I do this I hear you say?
I would need lots of guidance but it sounds like something worth exploring.
Well, to start with you don’t have to be religious. Far from it.
But we can use components often found in places of worship.
Subdue the lighting. Use candles or dim the lights to create soft atmospheric tones in the surroundings.
The very first civil ceremony I conducted was at dusk. The bridal party had hung tea light candles in shrubs and trees around the ceremonial space.
Wow! What a romantic and yes, a spiritual atmosphere the altered lighting created.
Consider using choir music, organ music, operatic singing or even soft chanting pre recorded music.
Dramatic venue choices can induce spiritual feelings.......windswept beaches, ruins, monolithic rocks, intimate spaces in gardens, deconsecrated churches especially those with stained glass windows.
Burning essential oils such as incense or lavender to infiltrate the gathering and surrounds.
Wearing of Medieval costumes has the ability to transport you to another time and place. Coupled with “ olde world” readings or poetry the ceremony and ceremonial space can be rendered dramatically and spiritually.
Inclusion of rituals to acknowledge certain aspects of your personal journey.
For example acknowledging deceased loved ones, mentors or a Godparent who played an important part in the development of who you are right now.
Acknowledgement of Traditional Ownership of the ground on which your spiritual wedding ceremony is being conducted.
So you can see with a little tweaking here and there the spiritual side of your make up can be included in your celebration to make it really special, really different, meaningful and unforgettable for you all.
I have prepared ceremonies for you to use as a guidewhen considering your own spiritual wedding ceremony. All you have to do is personalize here and there it to suit your own circumstances.
